What I Offer As Your Doula

I have created an affordable birth package to help build our relationship and maintain a supportive environment. I offer two prenatal visits, support throughout the entire labor and delivery process, staying after delivery to help with breastfeeding, and a postpartum visit.

Prenatal Visits

Our initial meeting is a no obligation consultation visit. It is very important for couples looking for doula services to find what fits their specific needs and style.

If you decide to hire me as your doula, we will schedule our first prenatal visit. The first visit is a time for us to get to know each other better. We will discuss what birth means to you, how the pregnancy has been so far, and any fears around the birth. I will find out what your needs are and what I can specifically do for you.

On the second prenatal visit we will discuss comfort measures, birth plans, and expectations. We will practice relaxation techniques and birthing positions.

During Labor And Delivery

I will focus on making you as comfortable as possible, using massage techniques, relaxation, positioning, aromatherapy, soft music, water in the tub or shower, and movement. I will provide positive affirmations, helping you to stay calm and relaxed, or providing the security you need to let yourself “lose control.” I can provide information as things come up to help you and your partner make the right decision for you.

Postpartum Visit

I will visit the family a week or so after the birth. It is very important that we discuss your birth, your thoughts (highs and lows) about your journey. During the postpartum visit we'll also discuss your emotions, breastfeeding, family adjustments and infant care. I can also provide you with resources available for new moms.

Other Services

I have a lending library of over 60 books and DVD's pertaining to childbirth. You can borrow anything you would like and return it on the postpartum visit. The list is found here.

I will also be available to you through email or phone to answer any question you may have or just to give support.

My fee is $400.  Additional postpartum visits are available for an additional fee.
